1. 96 oz cranberry juice
2. 5 cinnamon sticks
3. 8 cardamom pods, cracked open
4. 10 whole black pepper corns
5. 1 star anise
6. 10 cloves
7. thumb-sized ginger, sliced thin
8. pinch of salt
9. 2 oranges, with rind, sliced
10. 1 tbsp vanilla
11. 0.5 cup brown sugar
12. 1 shot bourbon
13. ginger beer
14. sprig of rosemary for garnish
1. combine ingredients 1-8 in a heavy bottom pot and bring to a boil
2. let boil for 5 minutes and bring to a low simmer
3. add ingredients 9-11 and simmer for 2 hours
fill a tall glass with crushed ice and add 2/3 spiced cran, 1/3 ginger beer,1 shot of bourbon
to make extra fancy, bruise a sprig of rosemary and stick in the drink.
